Big Blue
I’m a dot in the sea.
I am in an endless expanse of blue.
The blue that runs from North to South.
From East to West.
The blue that connects us all.
I am a speck.
A whisper.
I am but a tiny part of this vast expanse.
And yet this big blue has shaped me.
From when my grandpa shrimped this blue.
To when I sail on the blue.
When I am most vulnerable,
And also, the most at home.
As to where I’ve been,
As to where I go,
Not one many may know.
As it is in the control of this sloshing blue.
I may never know to where I will go.
But I know it will carry me home.
