Target #1 

Embodying Lamar’s principles, Tran believes that being on time, on task, and on a mission is essential. “Start early. The earlier the plan is, the sweeter and better the results are,” he explained. When Tran serenaded his sweetheart for a homecoming proposal in front of several Texans, he learned how “important it is to take initiative since it’s the recipe for success.” Having a head start will allow you to engrave an impactful memory for you and your pookie’s love story. The greatest thing you can do for them is to pour all your effort into planning and organizing everything from the sequence of events to the specifics—even for that rejection, which remember, is just redirection. Just like in the movies, our favorite actors often play a vital role in our own prom-posals: poster board, flowers, and a head-over-heels level and theme of execution. For Mendoza, she pictures “a speaker blasting our favorite songs, a humongous bouquet, and our friend group recording the whole process for us to look back on someday.” Besides the most famously romantic three words someone could say in prom, she described her idea as “comedic, lovely, and over-the-top.” Mendoza encourages everyone to ensure that you truly know your person, and to be “as creative as possible”. This can be done by observing the shows they watch and their favorite food, matching their energy, following Tik Tok trends that resonate, referencing inside jokes, or exploring your partner’s 67 personalities through meaningful chats. 

Target #3 

Once upon a time, the day finally came—the clock struck twelve, and it’s time to get down on one knee. Beauty is often found within the simplicity and extraordinary, so Anderson has often resorted to being “clear and sincere,” and heavy on “calming your nerves down while speaking from the heart.” We’re humans, it’s normal to feel the rush of nervousness running through your veins but never leave your shoe of consciousness behind. Romantic movies don’t end with the protagonists in pajamas, so it’s a must to “dress to impress them; it’s a prom-posal and not a Saturday hangout with the boys,” he suggested. In a world full of unoriginal, generated material, the best way to deliver your message is by valuing this precious moment with your authenticity and words of affirmation.
